Snowman Love Affair

For as long as I can remember, our tradition was to take down the Christmas decorations and tree on New Years Day. This year was a little different as I had some time earlier in the week and started to undecorate on New Years Eve figuring the tree would be later on New Years Day.  Normally, I would leave a handful of my snowmen collection up and about until February, however this year, I decided to pack them all away.

That's when the snowman love affair started..

I thought about the Christmas holiday and what a pleasure it was to have my family with me on Christmas Eve and then with my husbands family on Christmas Day. I had my husband home with me just in the nick of time after the blizzard we had and so thankful that he was able to be present.  While packing away the snowmen though, I realized that in a small, strange way, these snowmen that were nicely propped up around my home represent my love affair with a very special snowman. 

It was then that I decided not to pack them away.

Besides, by the look on this fellas face he wasn't quite ready to be put in the box yet.. and, do you see that puff of cotton in his hand, I don't know about you, but that surely looks like an invitation for a snowball fight!

I have been a snowman collector for years. I collect mainly plush snowmen but in truth any type of snowman will do. My snowmen are not picky about making new friendships and find many flaky friends to be fun!

Snowmen represent a sense of youth, silliness and spirit to me, which is why I have this love affair with them. They are huggable, reliable and quiet just to name a few finer qualities.

Did I happen to mention that my husband plows snow during the winter and on any given day depending on the severity of the storm he could be away from home for more than a day or two. So, I have my plush snowmen to keep me company until the real "snow man" gets home.

So, how long do I keep my fluffy plush men around? Until Cupid swings by and then they go to rest until next winter.  What about you? Do you have a snowman love affair?
