The .50 Cent Tablecloth

Over the weekend I passed by a sign that read, "Estate Sale". Being that I've not been to one in ages, I thought I'd stop in and 'just look around'..  I had to turn around several times because I saw the sign once, while passing but then when I turned the car around during several illegal turns, I couldn't find the sign! OH no! They took it down! Was the sale closed? I  finally found the house again and snuck in.. "OH, Bert.. here's another late one..." {Sorry ladies but don't worry, I'm sure I'll find something...}

And find something I did...  I am a sucker for those piled up corners of doilies. I'm always the one scouting through the buckets of debris that another person might think is garbage.. I will usually find something useful that I will rescue.

Isn't the tablecloth lovely?  I stretched it out on the floor and examined it quickly because after all I was late to the party and didn't want to keep anyone. All I knew was that it was huge. I've needed a nice tablecloth that doesn't just hover over the edges, but rather covers them completely. Maybe this was it?

I found a few other doilies that I couldn't do without as well, mainly scarves though, nothing as large as this tablecloth. Walking up to the homeowner, I was already anticipating being told the cloth was going to be at least $10 seeing that I was barging in on a closed sale. (If you've ever had a garage sale or another sale of this type, you will understand that it's a long day of waiting, negotiating and selling)

What does the woman say? "Is .50 cents too much?" A.. Uhmm.. Well.. she caught me completely off guard. I quickly threw my $10 in my pocket and scouted out the .50 cents.  After leaving I realized I probably should have given her more money after all for a tablecloth that fits a table seating 8-10, I could have given more than .50 cents.  I'm still contemplating leaving the woman more money in an envelope by her door...
