Breadcrumbs Leading to Friday

What is it about Fridays that they seem to come so quickly? Some weeks I can barely remember what happened from Monday through Thursday? I do remember that this past Monday I felt sick as a dog. {where did that saying come from by the way?} I really don't like that saying anymore as you'll discover in a future post.

This week did fly by though for me..

Alas, I found out that I will be going back to work full-time next Monday. Hmm. What does that mean for blogland? Well, it means that I need to fine tune my posting and take advantage of the "Schedule" posting options when I can. Believe it or not, I just found that option in blogger!

Lots of work needs to be done at my garden center and I am up for the challenge I decided today. It was a day for me to pull up my boot straps and realize that our busiest season is just weeks away and I have to polish up my game. With hands in bleached water today I was scrubbing and cleaning displays and of course enjoying every minute of it.

It has been a week of more interviews, four new hires and anticipation of good things to come with a little sadness mixed in just to balance out the week. The sadness part I will refrain upon writing at this point as I will be dedicating an entire post to that and a later time.

What I am looking forward to is the continued melting of the snow around my house. However, I realize I have enough kindling to last me about eight years from now. I visited my compost pile not too long ago and realized that the waste I've been adding is definitely being consumed by the layering snow and rain. A good thing for sure. I can't wait to get my pitch fork in it and turn it to add some air within the pile. Isn't odd how a person can get so excited about a compost pile?

I went into the den today and realized that my Australian Tree Fern is kicking every other of my houseplants butts by producing more and more fronds as the days go by. Here I was afraid that it would not survive inside.. HA! I beat the odds! This is one beautiful fern worthy to be in anyone's garden, even if in a beautiful container.

I banged up my knee again last night as I swear the throw rug moved just as I was walking past it and fell on the floor. These pesky throw rugs.. some times they throw me for a curve!

It's been quite a week here a Tranquil Acres but hopefully the sun will rise and make way for a better, brighter calmer week ahead.. I hope you have had a good week full of joys and smiles..

Before I end, let me give you this little tid bit I learned today about batteries.. I'm sure you all use batteries in your home, and realize how costly they can become. So, watch this and maybe you'll save some money..

  1. I love your TGIF fellow...lol...I haven't been able to get the delayed posting to work for me so let me know how it works for you.

That fern looks like something very unusual too. I had to read it twice to figure out what it was. I put no skid stuff I found at the RV place under my one rug at our entrance and it really works. Take care and I loved your post.

  2. I am so glad you survived the week- sounds dangerous there. You need to kick some throw rug butt and get some training wheels!
I am glad you are doing well with that fern! I can't wait until mine start uncurling this spring. I love to wqtch them day to day. My ferns came from my mom's before we sold her house.
I hope you posts some hardy new varities on here that you sell and recommend.
I think we are going to luck out and miss most of the snow. Just 3 more weeks until spring!

  3. You've got to be kiddin me about 6 volt batteries. It's a bit like discovering the little man in the fridge who turns light on when we open the door. Who'd have thunk it?

Whats the bet now this little secret is out, they'll start making the casing of the 6 volts out of those impossible to open oyster shell plastic packaging - or jack the price up.

Thanks for sharing that. I can't wait to impress the hubster with that one. (I'll let him think I'm super switched on before I tell him you tipped me off )

    Hugs,
    Lisa xx

  5. Hi. I am over (way) 40 hopping and hoping to be over 400 on the CSN Bathroom Voting Contest.
Ask someone to Vote and Validate the email, please. It only takes a few seconds and doesn't cost anything to help. It's for a much needed bathroom repair/makeover.
