Frozen In The Interim

A look of the landscape of Tranquil Acres of Alexandria
An interim moment of frosted splendor
Only to make the heart grow tender

Poetry by Barbara Combs Williams

Glistening jewels of magic
Reigning in majestic splendor

You rain down upon the limbs
Of forested trees and shrubs

Missiles slice through frosty air
Piercing all found down below

Temperatures hover in the teens
A chilling glimmering glow

Reigning over all the world
Nature created this icy show

  11. Thank you all.. good thing I got those pictures yesterday because today it's simply dangerous to walk out in my landscape. Large limbs down all over and ice crashing to the ground.. I imagine it will be beautiful if the sun ever finds its way back to my part of the world..

  14. Ah yes... sometimes winter can produce such beautiful artwork, and then ... there are days like today when my beautiful landscape looks like carnage.. ;0( Trees down, limbs hanging, brush all over the place. At this rate I'll be cleaning up my yard until next Winter. I've never, EVER seen an ice storm like this! The poor trees are bending more and more. Ice and falling all over the place in huge chunks. You can't even go outside as it's too dangerous. I just hope my little cabin in the woods survives the day. I lost power for five hours this morning and just now got back up. Trees are coming down faster than you can say, "STOP!" now power lines are going on fire outside my house.. It's a war zone! AND I DO NOT LIKE IT!
