I have always been a fan of red, although I'm not positive it should be a color I choose for clothing. I've always been told I look better in greens and oranges.
While looking at all the colorful linky parties I contribute to such as Mellow Yellow Monday, Blue Monday & Pink Saturday I have suddenly realized that I have yet to show my true color. That being red.
This is a very small representation of the number of baseball caps in my collection. I have every color under the rainbow and yes, I do where them all!
This is one of my favorite chairs in my house, although Mr. Milo shares
it with me too.
At the moment I have some very pretty red flowers in my house that I've been fooling around with in Photoshop. My goal though is to grow more red flowers and foliage in my garden this year.
As I looked around for all the red, I realized I have more than can be said.. for example, I have a red dishpan, a red car, red dishes, bottles of red wine, red pj's, and much more red in my homestead!
As I end this red thread, I'll leave you with this poem to ponder on..
What is red?
By anonymous
Red is a sunset
Blazing and bright.
Red is feeling brave
With all your might.
Red is a sunburn
A spot on your nose.
Sometimes red, is a red red rose.
Red squiggles out when you cut your hand.
Red is a brick
And the sounds of a band.
Red is hotness
You get inside
When you’re embarrassed
And want to hide.
Fire-cracker, fire-engine
Fire-flicker red –
And when you’re angry
Red runs through your head.
A Valentine heart,
The trimmings on
A circus cart.
Red is a lipstick
Red is a shout
Red is a signal
That says, “Watch out!”
Red is a great big
Rubber ball.
Red is the giant-est
Colour of all.
Red is a show-off,
No doubt about it –
But can you imagine
Living without it?
Blazing and bright.
Red is feeling brave
With all your might.
Red is a sunburn
A spot on your nose.
Sometimes red, is a red red rose.
Red squiggles out when you cut your hand.
Red is a brick
And the sounds of a band.
Red is hotness
You get inside
When you’re embarrassed
And want to hide.
Fire-cracker, fire-engine
Fire-flicker red –
And when you’re angry
Red runs through your head.
A Valentine heart,
The trimmings on
A circus cart.
Red is a lipstick
Red is a shout
Red is a signal
That says, “Watch out!”
Red is a great big
Rubber ball.
Red is the giant-est
Colour of all.
Red is a show-off,
No doubt about it –
But can you imagine
Living without it?

Hi Leslie....Luv the presentation of red. I also luv red this year. In my yard, there is red everywhere. Not so much in my home....in the kitchen but that is it. I don't have one piece of red clothing at the moment. I think I will have to remedy that. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteLeslie that was a very all encompassing post about a color that no, I could not imagine living without. I used to have lots of red accents in our living room, to warm it up over winter.
ReplyDeleteIt made our revolting carpet look better. Now we are getting on with renovations, the red has been passed on to a dear friend for her craft room. All the neutrals are my favorites right now, with a little bit of blue, green and pastel pink to add variety.
cheers,
Lisa x
I have always been told a deep red is my best color. My dining room is red and the family room has lots of red in it right now. :) And my car was red until last year. I love all your reds. Did you know there is a linky party called Rednesdays? :) xo
ReplyDeleteHave you joined Rednesday yet? That would be a good place to show off all your lovely reds.
ReplyDelete@ Joanie - Really, not one red piece of thread? Not even a red sock about?
ReplyDelete@ Lisa - I know all about revolting carpet as I had the same until I revolted and ripped it out! I did neutral for a time, then brought in the color to reflect my moods..
@ Lynn & Donnie - Thank you! I found Rednesday and will be linking up on Wednesday! :)
I can't believe that you haven't linked up to Rednesday before, because it looks like you love the color red! I'm crazy about that chair of yours. It looks like the perfect place to read a book, and possibly take a nap too!
ReplyDeleteHappy REDnesday!
Carol
What a wonderful post for Rednesday! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteSherry @ A Happy Valentine
Welcome, welcome! So glad you made it! You sure have lots of reds to share with us! (Though, I'll forgive you for the Yankees cap, lol!)
ReplyDeleteI love your chaise lounge and the way you experimented with your photoshop flowers! Come back soon!
That is a great post on red! I do love red have since I was achild. But it seems pink is th clor of choice around her for some reason. And I wear alot of green. So dont figure.
ReplyDeleteI must check out the pink Saturday sounds fun! you should do Red Mondays.
Blessings
I love the color red, but I am a redhead with fair skin and freckles and I, sadly, cannot get away with wearing the color. Even though I love the color, I actually have very little of it in my house.
