While dusting the house the other day I came to this little wooden box that brings a smile on my face every time I look at it. It's one of those silly things that just makes you grin for no apparent reason. Perhaps it's an old memory I'm reminiscing about when mom would take me shopping and I'd follow along hand in hand with her. We'd get to the counter and then the ultimate prize would be given. A lollipop! Yummy! Of course, lollipops were only given to 'good' little girls and boys, of which I was 'usually...' I write with a grin..
I have this old candy box hung on my kitchen wall and I have no idea where I got it from. But, I love it and of course, it was popular back in the 1960's when I was born.
"Just One Please".. I'm wondering if I only took one? How many times have you ever wanted someone to only take one and for what occasion?
How about Halloween? When you've only bought enough candy for a certain amount of kids and then you have that one Tricker Treater that always wants to grab a handful. Do you ever say, "Just One, Please.."?
I used to do Watkins demonstrations and would often set up tables at local craft shows. I'd have the table set with samples of dips and crackers and while most would only "sample" there would be others that made a meal out of them. That was definitely a time when I would say, "Just One, Please"..
How about you? What are the times you've wished you could have said, "Just One, Please"?

That is such a cute container. I wish I could say just one when it comes to cookies. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great vintage showing for today. I recall those in my younger days. Always something for us kids to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling lollipop case. It's not easy to take just one! The time I remember about taking seconds is when I threw an 80th birthday party for MIL and I thought I had enough food. My nephews were taking enough for 3 or 4 people. Luckily I had over bought. Cute post for toda.

Such a cute box, I'd be tempted to take more than my share;-) I have a hard time at Costco when they have their samples out. If I really like something, I'll go back again and maybe even a third time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and Happy VTT
I do love that little box you have.
ReplyDeleteI hand out the candy on Halloween. I give out the big bars so they are only getting one! Sometimes I let them choose what kind they want.
I can't think of a time off hand when I had wished I said just one except for when I'm eating something I shouldn't be!!
