Sweet Things in Milford

Today I ventured back out to Milford, NJ as I remembered seeing an antique shop that I hadn't shopped in before.  The minute I drove up to the store I knew I was going to find some treasures.   If you've never been to Allen's Antiques in Milford, NJ, it's definitely worth the visit. You are greeted by a beautiful dog and two very nice owners and a store that is filled to the ceiling with treasured antiques for every room of the house. It's the kind of place that you will breeze through once, although carefully, because there's trinkets in every nook and cranny, but then you go through every room with a determination looking at everything this store has to offer.

Indeed I found some 'sweet things' in Allen's place..
Let's start with the child's commode that I have already decorated. While this isn't going to be its permanent place, it shows off well here for the time being holding my pretty primroses in the sun..

I've been looking for a taller plant stand to hold my awesome Australian Tree Fern and this was it! I love it!

Then, there's the doily of course that I simply couldn't pass up and the cloche. Although the owner told me they received this glass item as a plant clipping holder as it had a ring over the top that you could attach to a macrame rope. I like it as a cloche, don't you?

Here we are with this three piece 1950's glass canister set. I just love them!

How do you like this green vase? It's such an usual piece that I spotted on the bottom of the shelf as I was checking out. It was filled with plastic bags of earrings, but immediately I knew it was going home with me..
For the time being I'm floating some sunflowers in it, but I'm sure this will lend itself to many more beautiful things in my home..

All this for just $72.00!!!
I'll definitely be visiting Allen's Antiques again!

  2. Leslie- you did very good shopping! Love it all. The canisters are so fun and the 70s glass reminds me of a piece my dad bought and it sat on the tv. It was gray and purple swirl swan. My mom wasn't real happy with it but dad and I liked it. LOL It's like the paris leg lamp from the Christmas Story!
Love the child's commode. It's in really good condition.
You can shop for me any day!
    Hugs- Tete

  6. Oh Leslie Girl...
You did GOOD. I love the child's commode and how beautiful it looks with your gorgeous primroses just basking in the sun. I love that.

Now that plant stand is gorgeous and how wonderful that it holds such a gorgeous plant. I have never seen an Australian Tree Fern. I love ferns, is it hard to grow? I might not even be able to find one out here in the desert.

Love your cloche and the canisters, oh my are they ever beautiful. That green basket is gorgeous floating your sunflowers. How pretty.

Girl you did really good for your price tags today. I am so jealous. I am so tickled you took me shopping along with you. Thanks my sweet friend.

Hope you have a beautiful Sunday. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
