After three days of bliss, it's back to reality for me.. I have to say that our trip to Orlando far exceeded my expectations. We relaxed, had fun, enjoyed nature, ate good food and just enjoyed each others company. What a wonderful trip we had, but after being being picked up at 7:00am this morning, I knew it was the beginning of 'reality' for us.
Did you know that just a few bags of candy could throw your luggage overweight? For my husbands birthday my daughter gave my husband a bag of all his favorite candies. We decided to bring it along with us to snack on while in the hotel room. The trip down it appeared to not be a problem, but on the way back it caused our luggage to be potentially charged $50.00 because our bag was over by five pounds! I only bought two hats, and a t-shirt that added to the weight, so the culprit was the bag of mixed candy! Fortunately, Jet Blue allowed us to remove the candy culprit to alleviate the extra charge.
I have to say that Jet Blue Airlines is a class act airline. It was the first time we've flown with them, and I'd definitely use them again. A nice crew and on time performance solidifies my judgement.
While sitting in my seat I gazed out to the clouds and found myself dreaming of happy times. How sweet the clouds looked around the plane. Like cotton balls drifting in air without a care..
The arrival home first started with joy as I realized my daughter had cleaned the house prior to our arrival. I love coming home to a clean house. Who wouldn't right? Then, my happy demeanor all came to a sudden halt when I was in the basement doing laundry when I heard the all too familiar 'hiss' of a leaky pipe! What? I haven't even paid the plumber for his last visit to fix a prior leak... Needless to say, this one was far worse than I could have imagined. It was under the crawl space in the land of what I call the 'unknown'.
I've never been under the crawl space as it looks confined and scary. As I called my darling husband he knew it was only going to be bad news when he heard me bellow out, "Come down here and turn the light on!" OH NO! Yes, indeed, another leaky pipe that needed to be fixed. My husband surveyed the area and said, "call the plumber as it's not good, and you can't use the hot water in the kitchen either" WHAT? That immediately ended my blissful getaway and threw me in a tailspin of slamming doors and spitting obscenities. This can't be!!!
With that my dear husband realizing I was in a fit of fury squeezed his way through the crawl space below and temporarily patched the leaky pipe. What a guy, huh! It never ceases to amaze me how much this man will do for me.. What have I done to deserve this special kind of love? Whatever it is, I hope I show the love that he deserves.
So, I'm happy to be home, even with the leaky pipe. I guess I'll be calling the plumber soon enough, but until then, I'll be reminiscing about our Florida get-away and looking forward to the next one!

Boy when life happens it REALLY happens....Poor Baby and Poor Hubby....
ReplyDeleteThat's just what a weekend away should be. Sorry you had to come home to leaky pipes. Hope it doesn't drag out too long. It sounds like you and your husband are just right for each other. :-)
