A Flurry of Birds!

While some might not like the recent cold weather we've had in New Jersey, it certainly does bring out a show of birds! Add a little cold wind and some snow flurries and you've got a bird picture parade.

With temperatures in the 20's, there's not much I'm doing outside, but inside I can watch all my feathered friends enjoy the treats that I have supplied. It would seem that my bird tree is paying off in a rather large way!  Want to see more birds in your gardens? It's easy, keep your feeders filled with a good quality bird seed and offer suet. It's as easy as that. So, let's begin the bird picture show!

Brown Creeper

American Crow

Black Capped Chickadee

Nuthatch

Eastern Bluebirds

Mourning Dove

Male Cardinal

White Throated Sparrow

Dark Eyed Juncos

Dark Eyed Junco & Purple Finch

Tufted Titmouse

Blue Jays

Goldfinch
Downy Woodpecker

Red Bellied Woodpecker

Not even the squirrels can keep up with the amount of birds visiting the feeders!

I've recently promoted my Beagle to the following positions!

I don't know about you, but birdwatching gives me such pleasure. It forces me to sit or stand still giving my mind, my body and my heart a much needed rest while feeling good that I've helped nature!

If you're a birder, or just a little birdy ... and want to further extend your interests and learn more about our feather friends there are two great websites that you must checkout.

Not only do they both have some great information, but tips and how-to articles to help you bring birds to your landscape.  If you're a Facebook user, find them on Facebook and join in on their daily conversations and meet others that share your passion!

Until next time!
