Local Favorite Spotlight: Charmingly Country - Hampton, NJ

My style has always been country. While some like traditional, others like Modern, I've been a country gal all the while. When I lived outside of the country environment, my house was always decorated as if someone would step into a charmingly country environment. One of my favorite signs given to me by a good friend says, "A day in the country is worth a month in town". This is so true for me. I'm always scouting around for places to shop that sells quality country style decorations.

A little over a week ago I was riding around Hampton, NJ when I stopped into a shop called "Charmingly Country" on Rt. 31 South. What a surprise I found inside of Charmingly Country! A country decorators paradise of nick knacks, gifts, signs, decorations, you name it, if it's country, they have it.

While there I was greeted by the shop owner, Natalie Eick who owns Charmingly Country along with her sister, Elizabeth Procita. Natalie is a lovely store owner who made my visit a true pleasure. After just minutes of talking with Natalie, you could see the passion she holds for owning Charmingly Country as she loves to deal with customers and making their shopping trip worth while.

Seeing that many of the items looked handmade, I inquired about where Natalie buys some of her merchandise from. I should have known.. Lancaster, PA! If you've ever been to Lancaster, you will recognize the same quality craftsmanship at Charmingly Country.

Charmingly Country will be celebrating their 8th year in business this coming June, and no doubt will be celebrating many more anniversaries in Hunterdon County as this store is definitely a treasure to visit.

There were several things that impressed me about Charmingly Country..

**Great displays - I don't know about you but I appreciate when a gift store makes up great displays that gets my imagination going. Anyone can put a wreath on a table or a stand to sell it, but put it with some garland against a fence, and I'm sold. I have just the place in my own home to adorn with the same decorations.

**Seasonal gifts - Whether I'm looking for an every day gift for myself, a friend, a teacher or someone special, Charmingly Country has just the right stuff. Or, if I'm looking for a seasonal gift like Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, they have that too. If you just want to change the seasonal spirit in your home, Charmingly Country can accommodate that as well with gifts and decorations for every season of joy.

**Versatile offerings - Charmingly Country was virtually my one stop gift shop for several items I was looking for. One can consider Charmingly Country a shopping destination that is filled with not only gifts and decorations but they also carry candles, frames, decorator items, signs, flags, cards, doilies, kitchen towels and so much more!

**Locally made gifts - In great Hunterdon County tradition, Charmingly Country is another supporter of selling locally made merchandise to help keep our country strong.

I'm sure by now you're wondering, what about the prices? Well, that's one of the best parts about Charmingly Country. Unlike the high prices of today's "Folk Art Country Craft Shows", you'll find Charmingly Country very reasonably priced and you won't have to pay an admission fee or get your hand stamped to enter this beautiful country gift store!

Stop in Charmingly Country and say hello to Natalie! When you're setting your destination to visit, you can also look for Dutch Valley Florist as Charmingly Country is located to the left of the florist in its own part of the building.

At Tranquil Acres of Alexandria we're taking it one day at a time.. While we have several places to tell you about on our recent journeys during the end of February, we are taking it a bit slower as we recover from recent shoulder surgery. We hope that you'll continue to stay tuned to all the destinations we visit and write about even if it takes our engines a little longer to write about them.
