Local Favorite Spotlight: The Pittstown Inn - Pittstown, NJ

There's something very comforting knowing that when you want really good food and fine customer service that all you have to do is get in your car and drive down the hill to the Pittstown Inn in Pittstown, NJ.

My husband and I have been visiting the Pittstown Inn on and off for the past six years. We were first drawn to this restaurant by the enchanted outdoor seating that is very inviting while driving on Pittstown Road.  You can't help but notice the many happy customers dining outside when the weather is just right.

When your in the mood for a more romantic seating, the Pittstown Inn is the place where you can feel the warmth of history and ambiance.

On our last visit, we sat outside the main dining room which was already filled with reservations, but the room we sat in was quite complimentary and comfortable. Typically when we visit a restaurant that we think might be worthy of a local favorite spotlight, we like to sit in a place where we can get the best birds eye view of the entire scenario of the restaurant. Indeed our seating was perfect as it gave us the opportunity to witness the amount of customers that quickly filled the seats.

Our service was very prompt and as usual, our servers were genuinely kind and gracious throughout our entire visit.  If you're a Martini drinker, take a look at the number of selections they have! My favorite is always the Lemon Drop, which always hit the spot!

After taking a look at their menu and specials, it was decided that we would try their Sampler Platter which was a delicious assortment of Quakertown Wings, Fried pickles, Potato Skins and homemade French fries.  This dish certainly set up the evening for anticipation of our main courses.

I had to try their soup of the day which was a rich, creamy cup of Butternut Squash. This along with the warm bread that was served was absolutely delicious.

Then came our main courses..

My husband elected to have one of their "customer favorite" burgers called Al's Pittstown burger which was cooked to perfection.

While I had the Sea Scallop special that I found wonderfully prepared. Often times, scallops can be overcooked but not at the Pittstown Inn as they literally melted in my mouth with a fantastic arrangement of mashed potatoes and fresh, crisp snow peas. A delicious choice indeed.

One of the things I thought was great about their menu was the fine representation of local names to dishes.

While sitting waiting for our entrees, I couldn't help but notice the total ambiance of the Pittstown Inn. It is the kind of place where laughter is heard, conversations between friends and lovers can be seen and above all, where good times are had. Friends that bump into each other stand and hug or shake hands. It's definitely a meeting place for many.

Because I'm a stickler for noticing how clean a restaurant is, I will have to say that the Pittstown Inn is probably one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been in. Crisp, clean linens, tables and floors that are very well kept and the view of one of their kitchens is definitely a wonderful testament to how well maintained they keep their establishment.

I've been following the Pittstown Inn's facebook page for sometime now and love seeing what's going on, and believe me, there is always something going on including local musical artists that get the place hopping!  Perhaps you'd like to join their Facebook page and keep up on what's going on there too!

Needless to say, I was only too happy to present the Pittstown Inn with one of my "Local Favorite Postcards" as they have definitely been a local favorite of mine for quite sometime!
